Produce higher resolution images with Alcorix pinhole apertures

Pinhole apertures are meant to shape and filter the beam in order to produce a better image. Alcorix has a number of standard configurations and can work with you if you need to customize for different shapes and thicknesses of apertures.

Custom made pinhole apertures with different shapes and thicknesses are possible. Contact us for your needs.

Typical in-stock-available pinhole apertures are gold disks of diameter 2.8 mm, with a central cylindrical hole of diameters from 5um to several tens of um. Gold disks can be free-standing or attached to larger Si handling chips. The thickness of the gold is 60 um to 80 um. Being made of gold and having in general smaller diameters than laser-drilled & polished Ni pinholes, working at higher photon energies and better resolution is possible.

Pinhole apertures can be used for filtering out spurious focal points of zone plates (order-sorting apertures), beam shaping (field apertures) or scanning image fields with photodiodes behind them for imaging purposes.
